From Green to Clear

These are pools I've actually worked on — green-pool recoveries and a full drain and acid wash — shot before I started and after I finished. Not every job is this dramatic. A lot of my week is the routine stuff: power-washing hard-water calcium off tile and waterline, and keeping the chemistry right so a pool never gets to the green stage.

Storm hit your pool?

Monsoon dust and wind will load a Las Vegas pool in an hour, and 90-degree water burns through chlorine much faster than cooler spring water does. After a big storm I try to get to the hardest-hit pools first.
